Sunny Guesthouse

Sunny Guesthouse is a guest house on Pham Ngu Lao street in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City, 50 m from Bui Vien walking street and 800 m from Ben Thanh Market. The front desk is staffed 24 hours a day, free WiFi covers all areas, and the guest house also offers motorbike rental, a tour desk and bike and walking tours.

Its five room types are between 22 and 24 m², and each has a private bathroom. They range from a Superior Double Room with one extra-large super-king bed and a terrace to a Superior Family Room with two of the same beds, a balcony, a view and a terrace for up to four guests. Air conditioning is in four of the five rooms, while the Family Room with Balcony uses a fan.

Some upper floors can only be reached by stairs, which matters with heavy luggage. The Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum and Tao Dan Park are each 750 m away, so the central sights are a short walk from the rooms.

Sunny Guesthouse offers five room types, all with a private bathroom and all between 22 and 24 m². What sets them apart is the outdoor space and the bed layout. The Superior Double Room, the Superior Family Room and the Superior Triple Room all have a view, and the Superior Family Room is the only one that combines a balcony, a view and a terrace. Balcony rooms can be requested, subject to availability.

Beds run from one extra-large super-king double bed to two of the same, with a double bed and a king-size bed in the triple room and two double beds in the Family Room with Balcony. Four of the five rooms have air conditioning and a minibar, while the Family Room with Balcony has a fan instead, a wardrobe and an electric kettle. Every room has a flat-screen TV.

The guest house covers the practical side of a city stay: a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, lockers, currency exchange, laundry and a minimarket on site. Daily housekeeping is provided, and 24-hour security, key card access and CCTV in common areas and outside the property add to the security of the building. A safety deposit box is available for valuables.

For the city itself, the tour desk arranges tours or classes about local culture, bike tours and walking tours, and motorbike rental is available. Free WiFi covers all areas, and a shared lounge with a TV area and a sun terrace give guests somewhere to sit between outings.

Rooms have internet services and a flat-screen TV, with toilet paper, an electric kettle, a clothes rack and a wardrobe or closet. Family rooms and non-smoking rooms are available, and a designated smoking area is set aside. There is no parking on site, so guests should plan to arrive by taxi or on foot.

Pham Ngu Lao street runs through the backpacker quarter of District 1, and the guest house is 50 m from Bui Vien walking street, the pedestrian lane where bars and restaurants stay busy into the evening. Within the same 50 m are the Pavement and Beer 102 Bui Vien bars, the Milk Tea And Bingsu Grandmother café, and the restaurants Shanti, Sinh Tố Bùi Viện and Blue Sky Restaurant, so you can eat and drink without going far.

Two pagodas lie within 200 m, Chùa Phước Hậu and Chùa An Lạc, and Saigon Evangelical Church is 200 m away too. The two bus stations, Bến xe buýt Sài Gòn and Bến xe Sài Gòn, are 350 m and 400 m away. Ben Thanh Station, the Line 1 metro stop, is 650 m away on foot, and Saigon Railway Station is 2.3 km away.

For sights, Ben Thanh Market is 800 m away and the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum is 750 m, while Tao Dan Park, a green space with paths and lawns, is 750 m. September 23 Park is 250 m away for a short break. Further out, the War Remnants Museum is 1.3 km away, Nha Rong Wharf is 1.5 km, the Saigon River Tunnel 1.8 km, the Vietnam History Museum 2.6 km and the Zoo and Botanical Garden 2.7 km.
